Welcome to Barmont Maple Syrup bush, where the bounty of the maple tree is turned into the sweet stuff of dreams-Maple Syrup! We have been boiling sap since the 1940's, making Barmont one of the oldest operating syrup bushes in the Hunstville area. This family-run business is now lead by our head syrup-maker, Julian Montpetit. Our syrup is available in the Muskoka, Bancroft and Greater Sudbury areas.
We have come a long way from the days of a metal pan, an open fire and dripping syrup from the skimmer to determine if it was ready to pour off. That shiny evaporator, aided by a reverse-osmosis machine, can turn the sap from our 1000 tapped maple trees into syrup which is then bottled for your enjoyment. But, no matter how modern and technical we get, the process is still ruled by Mother Nature. Making syrup will always be the hands-on process of turning the sap that nature provides into delicious, healthy-for-you maple syrup.
